New Neighbor: Lola’s

Meet Lola’s, the new pan-Asian and Southern restaurant by acclaimed Chef Suzanne Cupps located at 2 West 28th Street.

“NoMad is an exciting neighborhood to be in right now,” says Cupps. “So many top-notch hotels and restaurants have opened, and it’s a convenient destination for most New Yorkers.”

Lola’s is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 – 10 pm.

Meet David Johnston, Director of Development at The Jazz Gallery, a performance platform for emerging artists located at 1158 Broadway in NoMad.

“Our mission – The Jazz Gallery is America’s premier performance venue for artists who challenge convention, take creative risks, and lead their field as performers, composers, and thinkers,” says David. “Every day, we celebrate jazz as a dynamic art form that is reflecting an ever-changing world.”

Portal: Where New York Meets Dublin

Flatiron NoMad Partnership in collaboration with with the New York City Department of Transportation’s Art Program (NYC DOT Art) and the Simons Foundation are thrilled to announce “The Portal,” a groundbreaking public technology sculpture that will form a visual bridge between New York City and Dublin, Ireland, launching on Wednesday, May 8th.

Portal in New York City will be installed on the Flatiron South Plaza, next to the Flatiron Building. In Dublin, Portal will be installed facing the capital’s main street, O’Connell Street and will capture both Dublin’s famous GPO building and the Spire together.

Street Closures:

  • West 24th Street between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue will be closed Saturday, April 27th through Sunday, April 28th for boom lift façade inspection.
  • Broadway between West 24th Street and West 25th Street will be closed from 5 am – 11:59 am Saturday, April 27th through Sunday, April 28th for boom lift façade inspection.
