Participatory Budgeting Vote Week is Here

It’s time to vote! City Councilmember Erik Bottcher has allocated $1 million for Participatory Budgeting (PB) in Council District 3 (which includes Flatiron & NoMad).

Now through April 14, anyone who lives, works, or goes to school (ages 11 and up) in District 3 is eligible to vote. Individuals can vote in-person at these locations and in Madison Square Park on Tuesday, April 9 from 1 – 5:30 pm and Wednesday, April 10 from 2 – 4 pm.

Ballot items in Flatiron & NoMad include:

  • Broadway Pedestrian Plaza (Broadway from 27th – 28th Streets)
    • Cost: $300K
    • Part of the long-term Flatiron Plaza Broadway Vision Capital Project, this funding would facilitate the extension of the NoMad Piazza pedestrian plaza an additional block for the enjoyment of neighbors, visitors, shoppers, and workers alike.
  • Madison Square Park Fence Upgrades (11 Madison Avenue)
    • Cost: $200K
    • This project would replace fencing around Madison Square Park’s 26th Street Garden and Redbud Lawn.
