New Neighbor: Kaiten Zushi

We’re excited to welcome Kaiten Zushi, the new conveyor belt sushi restaurant in NoMad. Located at 276 Fifth Avenue, the restaurant uses innovation and tradition to offer delicious sushi in a fun dining experience.

“Kaiten Zushi is thrilled to have found its home in the vibrant neighborhoods of Flatiron and NoMad,” says the team. “The decision to choose this area for our business was carefully considered, driven by a desire to bring the heart of midtown to life with our unique dining concept.”

Kaiten Zushi is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 am – 10 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm – 10 pm.

Meet Marco R. Ciocca, Co-Founder & Chairman of The Montessori Schools at Flatiron and SoHo located at 5 West 22nd Street.

“Flatiron & NoMad sit at the heart of Manhattan and have become hubs for tech, finance, hospitality and shopping,” says Marco. “I chose Flatiron for our first school because I felt it had everything to offer and knew it would be a great neighborhood for families to raise children.”

Marco discusses his career in education, his leadership role at the School, and what he likes most about Flatiron & NoMad.

Celebrate National Thrift Shop Day Tomorrow

National Thrift Shop Day is tomorrow, Thursday, August 17th!

This is a great opportunity to support local thrift stores in the neighborhood by buying or donating second-hand goods.

Live Music this August

The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad in partnership with the Tin Pan Alley American Popular Music Project is hosting a free, outdoor public music series starting tomorrow, Thursday, August 17th!

Taking place on Thursdays in August from 4 – 6 pm, the first performance will feature vocalist Ilana Meredith with piano and accordion accompanist Joe Rutkowski, and Historian Jim Mackin to hear and learn more about the cultural history of Tin Pan Alley.

Community Advisory: Department of Design & Construction

The NYC Department of Design & Construction (DDC) has begun operations for the installation of water main distribution on Mondays through Fridays from 7 am – 4 pm.

Sidewalks and curbside parking will be impacted on East 29th Street from Madison Avenue to Fifth Avenue.
