Mayor Adams & DCP Director Garodnick Announce “City of Yes for Housing Opportunity” Plan

On Thursday, August 17th, Mayor Eric Adams and Department of City Planning Director Dan Garodnick announced the “City of Yes for Housing Opportunity” Plan and the Midtown South Mixed-Use Plan to convert vacant commercial offices into permanent residences to increase the supply of housing for all New Yorkers.

Mayor Adams announces New Expansion of Broadway Vision

Mayor Eric Adams and NYC Department of Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced a new phase of the Broadway Vision plan this week to better connect Flatiron and Union Square.

Improvements will be incorporated along Broadway from 21st Street south to Union Square including additional areas for public seating, walking, and bicycling.

Street Closures

  • East 22nd Street between Broadway and Park Avenue South will be closed Saturday, August 26th from 8 am – 6 pm and Sunday, August 27th from 9 am – 6 pm for lifting crates with a knuckle boom.
