The Q2 2024 Economic Report offers a snapshot of the economic health of our district; we discuss the state of our ground floor retail, pedestrian traffic at NYC Portal art installation, and major lease signings.

Some Q2 2024 Economic Report highlights:

  • As of May 2024, 83% of the district’s ground floor retail spaces are occupied
  • Class A and B commercial leasing more than doubled from Q2 2023, increasing to 620,000+ SF leased this quarter
  • American Eagle signed a 338,000 SF lease at 63 Madison Avenue

Flatiron NoMad Partnership is preparing for our upcoming Flatiron NoMad Día de Muertos celebration and seeks:

  • Submissions from artist creatives and creatives to bring alive the traditional Flatiron Día de Muertos Community Altar. Submissions are due by Wednesday, July 31st. View submission requirements here.

Midtown South Mixed-Use Plan: The NYC Department of Planning invites the public to learn more about the MSMX Plan by speaking directly with city planners and using their digital engagement tools to help understand the strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth in Midtown South.

Dining Out NYC: Eligible food establishments with existing temporary outdoor dining setups have until Saturday, August 3rd to apply for New York City’s permanent outdoor dining program, Dining Out NYC. Learn more about eligibility, fees, and how to apply here.

Free Recruitment Services for NYC Businesses: Workforce1 in collaboration with the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) can help businesses find the right candidates efficiently for free. Businesses interested in free recruitment services can submit this online form.

Street Closures:

  • East 26th Street between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue will be closed Saturday, July 20th and Sunday, July 21st from 7 am – 5 pm to facilitate crane operation.
  • East 30th Street between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue will be closed Saturday, July 20th and Sunday, July 21st from 5 am – 3 pm to facilitate crane operation.

 

Con Edison Work Notice:

  • Con Edison will be doing gas upgrade work on Fifth Avenue between 26th and 27th Streets on Saturdays from 8 am – 6 pm and Sundays from 9 am – 6 pm through August 30th.
