Honoring Juneteenth

This Sunday, June 19th, we commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans in 1865.

In honor of Juneteenth, we’ve compiled a list of ways to celebrate Juneteenth, through the support of Black-owned businesses, cultural happenings, resources and organizations, and notable neighborhood events in Black history.

Celebrate Pride

June is Pride Month, a celebration of the civil rights of the LGBTQ+ community and commemoration of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. On Sunday, June 26th, the NYC Pride March will step off from 26th Street and Fifth Avenue at noon.

Several neighborhood businesses are offering promotions in support and celebration of Pride. We’ve rounded up celebratory treats, drinks, retail offerings, and experiences.
