Flatiron Fitness Series Starts Today

Enjoy eight weeks of free outdoor fitness classes led by local Flatiron & NoMad studios starting today, June 21.

Wednesday evening classes will be held on the Flatiron South Plaza at 6 pm.

Salsa & Art Nights

Part of our Flatiron NoMad Summer Series, join us for four weeks of Salsa & Art Nights! Dance to live salsa music from the Benny Lopez Latin Jazz Ensemble on the Flatiron North Public Plaza.

While you’re there, experience “The Small Box,” an experiential public art activation presented by School of Visual Arts, Continuing Education (SVACE). Attendees have the opportunity to write on the piece, in chalk, their own answer to a question posed by SVA professor and artist Stephen Gaffney.

Movers & Shakers: Tom Blackie & Henri Myers, Co-Founders of MAISON 10

Meet Henri Myers and Tom Blackie, Co-Founders of MAISON 10, a gallery and boutique concept store located at 4 West 29th Street in NoMad.

“We also both love being part of a neighborhood and opening a gallery and boutique gave us the opportunity to meet lots of great artists and designers and the people who appreciate them,” says Tom.

Henri and Tom discuss their inspiration for opening MAISON 10 together in 2016, advice for aspiring gallery owners, and what they like most about Flatiron & NoMad.

Celebrate Pride

June is Pride Month, a celebration of the civil rights of the LGBTQ+ community and commemoration of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. This Sunday, June 25th, the NYC Pride March will step off from 26th Street and Fifth Avenue at noon.

Several neighborhood businesses are offering promotions in support and celebration of Pride. We’ve rounded up celebratory treats, drinks, retail offerings, and experiences.

Street Closures

  • West 20th Street between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue will be closed from 7 am – 5 pm Saturday, June 24th for a block party.
  • All crosstown traffic will be closed along the route of the NYC Pride March this Sunday, June 25th. The Flatiron North Plaza will be closed for event staging. Neighborhood pedestrian crossings on Fifth Avenue will be located at 23rd Street and 21st Street. Official Route Map.
