Plant-Based Food Fair
Our inaugural Plant-Based Food Fair in partnership with Eleven Madison Home is Friday, March 31st through Sunday, April 2nd from 11 am – 3 pm! The three-day event takes place on the Flatiron North Plaza highlighting plant-based options in Flatiron & NoMad.
Join the festivities and sample select menu options and products from neighborhood plant-based restaurants and businesses. This free public event will also feature family-friendly activities and live jazz music by The Jazz Gallery.

Movers & Shakers: Dawn Delikat, Executive Director, Chief Curator at Pen + Brush
Meet Dawn Delikat, Executive Director, Chief Curator at Pen + Brush, a publicly supported non-profit that showcases the literary and visual work of women, non-binary, and female-identified transgender artists and writers located at 29 East 22nd Street.
“I’ve dedicated my life’s work to amplifying the voices of women and non-binary artists and writers,” says Delikat. “Getting to do that through every aspect of my work is undoubtedly the most fulfilling part of my job.”

New Neighbor: Virgin Hotels New York City
We’re thrilled to welcome Virgin Hotels New York City to the neighborhood located at 1227 Broadway in NoMad.
“With stunning views, delicious food and beverage, convivial spaces to work or play, and exciting happenings from day-to-night, the hotel is poised to become a cultural epicenter for both local New Yorkers and guests from around the globe,” says Candice A. The new hotel features 460 guest rooms across 39 floors and entertainment spaces including Everdene, an expansive indoor-outdoor dining and cocktail venue.

E-Waste Recycling Day on April 5
Have an old cell phone or laptop that you no longer use? Bring your old electronics to our E-Waste Recycling Day on Wednesday, April 5 from 10 am – 2 pm at the Flatiron South Plaza.
In partnership with Councilmember Carlina Rivera, the Lower East Side Ecology Center, and Madison Square Park Conservancy, be a part of this green initiative during Earth Month.
Participants get to take home free plant seeds in exchange for their e-waste, and can enter to win local gift cards.

A Safer Midtown
The Midtown BID Coalition is comprised of seven fellow Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) north of and adjacent to Flatiron & NoMad, and is advocating to enhance public safety, provide effective services and support for the unhoused and mentally ill, and find solutions for housing challenges.
We invite those in our Flatiron & NoMad network to lend their voice for legislative action on these public safety, social services, and housing issues by visiting the Coalition’s website for A Safer Midtown.

DSNY Waste Setout Times Change April 1st
To reduce the time that trash, recycling, and curbside composting sits on sidewalks, the NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) will implement the following policies for business waste starting April 1:
- If using a container with a secure lid, place waste at the curb 1 hour before closing.
- If putting bags directly on the curb, place waste out after 8:00 PM.
