Join us next month on Thursday, April 9th from 5 – 7 pm to mingle with fellow Flatiron & NoMad business owners and operators.

This ticketed professional networking event invites local business owners and stakeholders to build valuable connections in a smaller, more intimate setting.

This event will be held at The Ned NoMad within The Magic Room (📍 1170 Broadway, 2nd Floor). Your $20 ticket includes small bites and drinks.

Movers & Shakers: Charlotte Colbert, Artist of Dreamland Sirens

Meet Charlotte Colbert, award-winning multimedia artist and creator of Dreamland Sirens, the 30′ high steel sculpture now on view at the Flatiron South Plaza through May 27th. In partnership with NYC DOT Art, the public art installation is curated by New Public and a part of Colbert’s first exhibition in New York City.

“Showing in New York—a city of possibility, dreams, and serendipity—is a dream,” says Charlotte. “Works in public spaces are wonderful, as they act as small parentheses within the daily routine and hopefully create opportunities for connection.”

RFP: 2026 Summer Seasonal Photo Frame

Last chance! Calling all artists & designers for our Summer Seasonal Frame: Pride Edition.

We’re seeking bold, creative concepts for our seasonal photo frame installation series. Selected participants will design and install a frame that captures the spirit of summer while complementing Flatiron NoMad Partnership’s programming for Pride.

LGBTQIA+ artists and designers are highly encouraged to submit proposals. Think you’d be a great fit? View all details and share your submission by March 31st.

NYC SBS x WE NYC: Women’s History Month Celebration: Join Women Entrepreneurs NYC (WE NYC) and NYC Dept. of Small Business Services (SBS) on Tuesday, March 31st at 4:30 pm for a special Women’s History Month Celebration. The event will include engaging panel discussions and networking opportunities. Register here.

Spotlight Your Business on the Summer 2026 Live NYC Map: NYC SBS has launched The Live NYC Map, a digital, interactive map that helps tourists find local businesses. Storefronts hosting World Cup screenings, Sail4th events, or special promotions can be highlighted at no cost. Learn more, here.

DSNY Official NYC Bin Availability Citywide: DSNY announced that all nine sizes and colors of official NYC Bins are now available for in-store pickup at NYC Home Depot locations including our local store located at 40 West 23rd Street. Buildings with 1 to 9 residential units will be required to use NYC Bins for their trash starting in June 2026. Learn more about containerization, here.

Con Edison Work Notices:

  • Now – Friday, March 27 from 7 am – 3:30 pm, Con Edison will perform ECS support work and continue hand care excavations at the intersection of East 29th Street and Fifth Avenue.
  • Now – July 31, Con Edison will be performing gas upgrade work on West 26th Street between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue on weekdays from 9 am – 4 pm.

 

Open-Grille Security Gates: Local businesses must comply with a long-standing requirement for open-grille security gates by July 1, 2026. Compliant security grilles must provide at least 70% visibility into the storefront. Starting on July 1, 2026, the Department of Buildings (DOB) may fine non-compliant businesses. Learn more.

RFPs:

  • 2027 Winter Glow Art Installation: We’re seeking submissions of existing public art installations to serve as the centerpiece of our Winter 2027 programming series. The submission deadline is this Friday, March 27th
  • 28th Street Permanent Mural Installation: We’re seeking proposals for a permanent mural to be placed on 37 West 28th Street. The studio/artist shall install and maintain a mural that enlivens the wall and adds to the NoMad neighborhood’s identity. The submission deadline is Monday, April 20th.
