3-Day Plant-Based Food Fair Starts Friday

Our inaugural Plant-Based Food Fair in partnership with Eleven Madison Home is Friday, March 31st through Sunday, April 2nd from 11 am – 3 pm! The three-day event takes place on the Flatiron North Plaza highlighting plant-based options in Flatiron & NoMad.

Join the festivities and sample select menu options and products from neighborhood plant-based restaurants and businesses. This free public event will also feature family-friendly activities and live jazz music by The Jazz Gallery.

E-Waste Recycling Day on April 5

Have an old cell phone or laptop that you no longer use? Bring your old electronics to our E-Waste Recycling Day on Wednesday, April 5 from 10 am – 2 pm at the Flatiron South Plaza.

In partnership with Councilmember Carlina Rivera, the Lower East Side Ecology Center, and Madison Square Park Conservancy, be a part of this green initiative during Earth Month.

Participants get to take home free plant seeds in exchange for their e-waste, and can enter to win local gift cards.

Public Art: The Gilded Lady Mural

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we look at the backstory behind the making of The Gilded Lady mural. Created by renowned street artist Tristan Eaton, the image can be found on the south-facing wall of 236 Fifth Avenue.

“To the average person walking through the streets of New York, these beautiful women who are like the faces of all this history, are an obvious way to pull people in closer,” said Eaton to hauteliving.com.

DSNY Waste Setout Times Change April 1st

To reduce the time that trash, recycling, and curbside composting sits on sidewalks, the NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) will implement the following policies for business waste starting April 1:

  • If using a container with a secure lid, place waste at the curb 1 hour before closing.
  • If putting bags directly on the curb, place waste out after 8:00 PM.

    • East 29th Street between Lexington Avenue and Madison Avenue will be closed on Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd from 5 am – 3 pm for boom truck and crane operations.
    • West 29th Street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue will be closed every Saturday from 8 am – 4 pm until Saturday, April 29th for concrete operations.
    • East 31st Street between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue South will be closed Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd from 5 am – 3 pm for boom truck operations.
