Día de Muertos on Thurs, November 2nd

Due to inclement weather, our annual Día de Muertos celebration has been rescheduled to tomorrow, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND on the Flatiron North Plaza.

This public event will feature several elements integral to this historical Mexican tradition, including:

 

Keep the celebration going by supporting local Mexican Owned and Inspired Restaurants in the neighborhood.

Movers & Shakers: Andrea Arroyo

Meet Andrea Arroyo, awarding-winning Visual Artist-Artivist-Curator behind this year’s Día de Muertos community altar in partnership with the School of Visual Arts, Division of Continuing Education, which will appear at our public celebration TOMORROW, November 2nd on the Flatiron North Plaza from 3 – 7 pm.

“I am excited to have accepted this project as it perfectly aligns with the kind of work I do,” says Andrea. “It provides me with the opportunity to showcase art in public spaces and participate in meaningful partnerships.”

Veterans Day Parade

On Saturday, November 11th, the NYC Veterans Day Parade will be taking place from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm.

The Parade route includes Fifth Avenue from 24th Street to 48th Street. Please be aware of increased activity in the neighborhood including parade staging and operations extending from Sixth Avenue to Madison Avenue north of 23rd Street.

  • OnePlus Trailer: Friday, November 3rd – Sunday, November 5th from 9 am – 8 pm on the Flatiron North Plaza

 

Street Closures

  • West 24th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenue will be closed from 6 am to 1 pm Saturday, November 4th and Sunday, November 5th for building facade inspection.
  • West 26th Street between Sixth Avenue and Broadway will be closed from 5 am to 3 pm each Saturday and Sunday through November 12th to facilitate crane operation.
