Register today for the Flatiron NoMad Partnership’s 18th Annual Meeting & Reception next Monday, September 30 at 4:30 pm at the Simons Foundation (160 Fifth Avenue).

Community members are encouraged to join as we dive into the data points and trends of the neighborhood.

Save the Date: Día de Muertos Week

From October 28 – November 1, join us for a week long Día de Muertos celebration with interactive, family-friendly events throughout Flatiron & NoMad!

Some events include:

  • Monday, October 28, 4-6 pm:
    Food Sampling at Local Participating Mexican Restaurants
  • Wednesday, October 30, 12-3 pm:
    Family-Friendly Día de Muertos Event at Capitol Plaza (48 West 27th Street)
  • Friday, November 1, 3-7 pm:
    Día de Muertos Celebration at Flatiron North Plaza

Restaurants Against Hunger is a global initiative that takes place across Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK. This year, the campaign is launching out of the US and is calling on restaurants to participate this October.

Midtown South Mixed-Use Plan: The NYC Department of Planning invites the public to learn more about the MSMX Plan by speaking directly with city planners and using their digital engagement tools to help understand the strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth in Midtown South.

Free Recruitment Services for NYC Businesses: Workforce1 in collaboration with the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) can help businesses find the right candidates efficiently for free. Businesses interested in free recruitment services can submit this online form.

Storefront Business Survey: The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce is conducting a brief survey to better understand the needs of storefront businesses in Manhattan. The short survey asks 10 simple questions about foot traffic and customer spending. Take the survey here by Monday, October 7th.

Neighborhood Activations:

  • Open Street: Now through Friday, September 27th from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm on Broadway between 19th Street and 20th Street. Hosted by the Ballet Tech School.
  • The Great Broadway Sweep: Wednesday, September 25th from 10 am – 2 pm on the Flatiron South Plaza.

 

Street Closures:

  • East 26th Street between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue will be closed from 6 am – 8 pm Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th to facilitate crane operation.
  • West 29th Street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue will be closed from
    7 am – 3 pm Saturday through October 27th to excavate and install conduit for new major service.
