Celebrate National Thrift Shop Day

National Thrift Shop Day is Thursday, August 17th and is a great opportunity to support local thrift stores in the neighborhood by buying or donating second-hand goods! Shopping resale not only helps to reduce waste, but also helps to promote the important initiatives of non-profit thrift stores.

We’ve rounded up thrift shops in the district you can stop by on National Thrift Shop Day.

Shop a unique variety of clothing, accessories, art, furniture, and housewares at Housing Works Thrift Shop. When you buy from Housing Works, you’re supporting a non-profit organization that’s working to end AIDS and homelessness in New York City. For National Thrift Shop Day, Housing Works will offer a curated collection to shop from as well as a buy more – save more promotion. In collaboration with the nonprofit Artistic Noise, each $10 donation will give young artists the opportunity to leave their marks on your thrifted pieces. Additionally, you can drop off your gently-used goods to donate.
