Alexis Cuadrado presents “Silent Film Scores for Social Justice” album release shows for one of the most ambitious projects of his career as a composer and producer. Five years in the making, the work pairs newly composed music with century-old silent films addressing immigration, women’s rights, poverty, inequality, and LGBTQ rights, issues still present in today’s news cycle. The performances have become a personal and artistic turning point, deepening his commitment to social justice and reframing his compositions as agents of change. Over the past three years, Cuadrado has raised more than $3,000 for organizations including Make the Road New York, the Gender and Family Project, and Planned Parenthood, with plans to continue through future recordings and performances.
