Kidilum, 31 West 21st Street, (917) 522-0355, @kidilum.nyc
The ingredient-forward South Indian restaurant Kidilum has opened in Flatiron. Translating to “beyond awesome” Kidilum brings together innovative food, drink, design, and hospitality to create something memorable. “We chose Flatiron because we instantly fell in love with its energy… The kind of neighborhood where creativity, culture, and dining are always evolving,” says Co-Founder Sid Sharma. “The ever-changing restaurant scene constantly inspires us, and the people who live, work, and gather here make it feel like the perfect place for Kidilum to call home. It’s a community that appreciates bold ideas, great food, and vibrant hospitality, and we’re excited to add our Kerala-rooted, New York-built story to the rhythm of Flatiron.” At Kidilum, guests can savor handcrafted dishes and culinary-driven cocktails in a welcoming and captivating space.

Upon entering, the interior features elements of South Indian culture adorned throughout, from handcrafted tiles to textured clay walls and custom art. Led by Chef Vinu, Kidilum’s curated menu is a reflection of his experience and journey working at restaurants around the world. The open concept kitchen creates bold and balanced coastal flavors that highlight each season. Dishes can be paired with a craft cocktail from the beverage program, made using real ingredients, spices, herbs, fruits, and infusions rooted in South Indian traditions. Kidilum officially opens on Friday, February 27th! Book your reservations today.

There’s a distinctive energy here — creative yet refined, historic yet forward-thinking. The streets feel alive with design, and laidback hospitality. From day one, we’ve felt warmly welcomed, and that sense of community has meant everything.” The 3-month pop-up is a women-led space, each bringing unique concepts across vintage, fashion, and art.
