The Trap Music Orchestra was founded by Ryan Easter in 2014, synchronizing the aural lineage of Black diasporic music around the modern library of the trap music branch of hip-hop, in the orchestral stye made legendary by greats such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Charles Mingus. Referencing everything from disco and Panamanian folk music, to Debussy and Earth, Wind, & Fire, the group immortalizes the ties of influence that weave throughout the music we listen to.
